A recent line of synthetic lubricants are said to protect equipment from wear and corrosion under the most severe conditions. Shell says its Omala S4 GX synthetic industrial gear oil and Gadus S5 T460 advanced synthetic polyurea grease are long-life, high-efficiency lubricants that increase the productivity and profitability of equipment.
Omala S4 GX synthetic industrial gear oil protects highly loaded gears operating at high temperatures and provides up to 90% less bearing wear than allowed by standard FAG test limits. It is useful in remote applications such as wind turbines, where equipment durability and reliability are critical.
The advanced synthetic polyurea grease is another way to protect in severe conditions. Shell says it is used in applications where non-synthetic greases would be inadequate including protecting heavily loaded bearings in high-temperatures and wet conditions of steel plants.
