Machine throughput increases with next generation indexing table

ETEL’s RTMB high precision indexing tables have been a trusted solution for over 10 years, with thousands of products operating in a variety of industries including automation, electronics, and back-end semiconductor manufacturing. Now, ETEL is proud to announce the next generation of high performance indexing tables: the RTMBi.

By combining ETEL’s high efficiency torque motors with HEIDENHAIN’s high resolution encoder technology in a very compact package, the RTMBi delivers industry-leading torque density with high positioning accuracy. With lower inertia and increased continuous torque, ETEL’s indexing tables are now capable of even higher dynamics and shorter indexing times, resulting in increased machine throughput for the end-user. In comparison to its predecessor, the RTMBi offers 15% improved continuous torque, 20% reduction in inertia, 10% improved peak torque and 600VDC compatibility while maintaining the same mechanical (pin-to- pin) interface for easy integration. Furthermore, italso offers an improvement of accuracy (±20arcsec), unidirectional repeatability (±2arcsec) and bi-directional repeatability (±3arcsec).

The RTMBi family consists of indexing tables with five different active lengths to match torque and size with specific application requirements, providing peak torque up to 197Nm, continuous torque up to 36.4Nm, and top speeds of 1200rpm. All RTMBi tables have an optimized 166mm outer diameter and a large 25mm hollow shaft.

Alone or coupled with ETEL’s force controlled short stroke actuators and AccurET controllers, the RTMBi is the perfect solution for applications in back-end semiconductor manufacturing, electronics, automation, or printing, such as MEMS testers, die bonders, pick and place testers, turret testing handlers, and more!
