Miki Pulley BXW spring applied brakes with static/dynamic braking robot arms

Miki Pulley BXW spring-applied brakes are now in several successful robot applications. WIth an optional manual release lever, these are heavy duty brakes designed for larger robotic arm applications. With brake, hold or brake, and hold functions, these specialty brakes insure braking functions. This is important in the event of power failure to protect the robot from a system collision. The BXW brake prevents mechanical system collapse, costly equipment damage and manufacturing downtime.

Featuring optional manual release lever, these new model BXW Brakes from Miki Pulley are suitable for servo driven robotic arm operation.

The brake’s optional release lever allows for manually releasing the brake from a hold position when restarting the servo motor and the robot’s operation.

Miki Pulley BXW brakes handle rotating speed up to 5,000 rpm. Suitable for servo motor driven robotic arms, they have a robust design with compression springs that engage and capture the brake’s rotor hub immediately stopping arm movement. The single friction plate design provides fast response in high cycle applications. BXW brakes also reduce idling wear in articulating joints because of their heavy duty design.

Another important design feature — the brake’s armature engagement is smooth, quiet, and operates with no chatter.

Operating specifications:

Brake torque: 0.88 – 0.369 ft. lb. (0.12 – 5.2 Nm)
Brake outer diameter: 1.457 to 2.953-in. (37 mm – 75 mm)
Ambient Temperature: 14° – 104°F (-10°- 40℃)
