Spend less time on base design work, reduce product costs, shorten design cycles, and speed time-to-market. VIA‚’s OpenBook mini-notebook reference design aims to help you meet these challenges.
The notebook‚’s open-case design, its energy-efficient 1.6 GHz C7-M processor and VX800 chipset, as well as the ability for designers to select from a choice of WiMAX, HSDPA, and EV-DO/W-CDMA modules make it easy for OEMs to build and sell their own configurations.
OEMs, system integrators, and broadband service providers can download the CAD files for the external panels of the VIA OpenBook mini-note reference design free-of-charge under the Creative Commons Share Alike Attribution license. The files are available at www.viaopenbook.com.
It comes with three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port, and audio-in/audio-out jacks as well as a 4-in-1 card reader (SD/SDIO/MMC/MS), and a 2 mega-pixel dual-headed web camera.
