R+W has developed a series of miniature bellows couplings to keep pace with increasing demands for higher precision, higher speeds and practical manufacturability.
MK couplings utilize a wide variety of mounting configurations, including the unique “blind-mate,” which allows for simple plug-in installation of motor and gearbox shafts. All the couplings incorporate a stainless steel bellows that compensates for axial, lateral and angular shaft misalignments simultaneously, and without backlash. The couplings are balanced for operation at up to 20,000 RPM, with balancing up to 100,000 RPM optional.
These torsionally rigid couplings are designed specifically for stepper and servo motors in precision applications. MK metal bellows coupling are available for a torque range of 0,5 – 10 Nm (4 — 88.5 in. lbs.) with bore diameters of 1 — 28mm, English or metric, with or without keyways.
