MISUMI adding stock to west coast warehouse for faster shipping

By Editor | September 9, 2012

MISUMI USA, Inc. will add a significant number of frequently ordered components to its distribution center in Torrance, CA, near Los Angeles. In response to increased demand, popular sizes and styles of many of MISUMI’s mechanical and factory automation components will be added to the local stock and many will be available for one-day shipping.

Opened earlier this year, the 34,000-sq-ft facility serves MISUMI customers across the Western U.S. Convenient local stocking of frequently ordered components means that parts that used to ship in 3 to 8 days, will now ship in one (1) day with no increase in shipping charges. Same-day shipment may be available on orders placed before noon CST.

To view locally stocked products, users can filter their product search criteria, on MISUMI’s website, by Ship Date of 1 day or less. Since MISUMI has no minimum order requirement, this improved delivery schedule can impact the purchase of even a single component.

At the heart of the MISUMI business model is the unique on-demand CAD Configurator and convenient electronic commerce on the one-stop Web. Exclusive to MISUMI, this business model offers customers an effective strategy for reducing costs and gaining competitive advantage through streamlined production and assembly processes and faster time-to-market.
