MISUMI USA, Inc. announces it has made significant enhancements to its 2011 e-Catalog and Web Ordering System (WOS).
According to Patrick Esposito, MISUMI USA Marketing Manager, the recent changes make it easier for customers and first-time purchasers to search and find products faster, and allow them to complete the configure, quote and order process seamlessly. “With over one million fixed and configurable components now available in our e-Catalog, our goal was to simplify the search and configuration process – and allow users to segue directly into our Web Ordering System to request a quotation or complete a transaction right from their desktop PCs, without the need for telephone calls or faxes,” he notes. “We feel confident that our new e-Catalog achieves these goals and will help our customers increase efficiency, thereby saving time and costs.
Using MISUMI’s newly enhanced e-Commerce site – http://us.misumi-ec.com – design engineers and purchasing agents, whether registered or unregistered, can search the e-Catalog for products by name or key words and access all the relevant technical specifications and pricing for that component, including availability and shipping time. They can also dimensionally configure desired components, automatically generate a part number, and preview a CAD drawing of the part.
Registered users at the site, however, gain increased functionality and options. After completing a simple registration and approval process, these users can also:
* Create a personalized “My Components List” allowing them to save, retrieve and even modify a configured model, instead of having to start all over again.
* Download 2D/3D native CAD files into any one of many commonly used CAD formats, such as SolidWorks®, CATIA® and Autodesk Inventor®.
* Issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and place orders directly through the convenient Web Ordering System.
* View on demand a “My History” page containing that customer’s entire order history.
Registration on MISUMI’s newly enhanced e-Commerce site is quick and easy, both for individuals and corporations. Simply go to http://us.misumi-ec.com and click on Registration.
Note: SolidWorks®, CATIA® and Autodesk Inventor® are registered trademarks of their respective owners.
