Schaumburg, IL – Misumi USA, Inc. announces that it has significantly expanded its line of Precision Linear Shafts, components frequently utilized in machine building and in the design of industrial automation machinery and systems. The new line is featured in Misumi’s 2009 Catalog of Mechanical Components for Assembly Automation.
The new Precision Linear Shafts are available in a multitude of design options, most of which listed below Misumi manufactures and ships to customers within 3 to 6 days. Options include:
•Radial wrench hole drilled at one or both ends (as a low cost alternative to wrench flat option now
available for many styles)
•Precision option with improved perpendicularity tolerance of 0.03mm for many of the existing
offerings — 8 days to ship
•New High Precision Piloted Shafts with pilot concentricity tolerance of 0.02mm — 8 days to ship
•Both ends stepped and tapped with wrench flat
•Both ends tapped and one end stepped with wrench flat
All of Misumi’s induction-hardened Standard and Precision Linear Shafts are precision formed, ground and machined to tight concentricity and straightness dimensional tolerances. The shafts come in standard and configurable sizes and lengths, as well as in a selection of materials/grades (e.g., Bearing Steel, Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel) and surface treatments (e.g., chrome plating, LTBC plating), depending on the user’s specifications and application requirements. Users can also configure the dimensions of over 90 different machined end variations.
