Misumi Highlights its Aluminum Extrusions and Accessories at ATX West 2010

By Miles Budimir | February 10, 2010

Schaumburg, IL – Misumi USA, Inc. highlighted its structural Aluminum Extrusions and Accessories at ATX West 2010 in Anaheim. Misumi offers the industry’s most comprehensive selection of precision-cut Aluminum Extrusions in a wide variety of profiles, including straight, curved, flat and dimensional, and in slotted, angled and tube versions. Misumi’s most popular profiles, which represent about 80 percent of demand, are now produced locally, so order-to-delivery turnaround time is extremely short — with many orders shipping in just two days.

Misumi’s Aluminum Extrusions are used in the design and assembly of workstation and machine safety guards, cabinets, enclosures, light machine bases, robotic jigs and fixtures, and display equipment. In addition, they are often used in the automotive, medical device and other industries for the manufacture of industrial and consumer products.

For example, Excitron Corporation of Boulder, Colorado, specified lightweight yet rigid Aluminum Extrusions for its recently launched Motorized Rotary Table with Z-Lift , a versatile and cost-effective work table used to automate activities such as laser marking, hot stamping, drilling and machining.

Vern Bunch, Excitron’s CEO and chief engineer, notes that selection of Misumi’s Aluminum Extrusions and other components “saved time and money for Excitron at the engineering end. In addition, with Misumi’s rapid delivery times, we were able to bring the new product to market faster than anticipated.”

For manufacturers and assemblers, additional advantages of Misumi’s Aluminum Extrusions include:

— Choice of Surface Finishes. Depending on product selection, surface finish options may include: Standard Clear Anodized, Black Anodized, Clear Anodized Acrylic-Coated, and an all-new Yellow Powder Coated Finish.

— Machining Options. Customers can specify aluminum machining alterations and even specify mounting hole types and locations in 0.5mm increments, without the need for manufacturing drawings, so extrusions arrive precisely sized and ready to assemble.

— Convenient One-Stop Shopping. Misumi offers a wide range of Aluminum Extrusions and complete line of in-stock assembly components, such as joints, brackets, end caps, fitting nuts and fastening screws, as well as auxiliary accessories such as rollers, sliders, curtains, bases and casters. All at competitive price points and with rapid delivery times.

Complete technical data, as well as pricing information and delivery times for Aluminum Extrusions and Accessories, are available in the Misumi catalog or on our website at http://www.misumi-ec.com/eusaen/mech/
