ALTRINCHAM, England, /PRNewswire/ — Maxatec announces the availability of its new Microsoft Windows Mobile® 6.1 terminal, the Maxatec HH 8010, that operates predominantly on Microsoft Windows CE® 5.0. The HH 8010 terminal will take advantage of Microsoft’s recent enhancements in Windows Mobile 6® for innovative applications.

Andrea Percival, managing director of Maxatec said “As the mobile solutions market continues to grow, the demand is increasing for Windows Mobile(R). We already provide products for a number of mobile computing applications in a variety of business areas, but to date we have been limited, as our offering has been based on Windows CE(R) 5.0. The addition of the Maxatec HH 8010 opens up a number of new areas to us and we can now satisfy the demand we are seeing from our customers. There is a plethora of mobile computing devices available on the market today, and we have therefore chosen the HH 8010 carefully so that we can compete with a product that is well specified and offers real value for money.”

The Maxatec HH 8010 has as standard WWAN connectivity through GSM/GPRS/EDGE (2.5G), Bluetooth or WiFi capabilities, and a barcode reader with HHP 2D imager.

The HH 8010 comes as a kit for either standard applications or for use in-vehicles. The kit comprises neck lanyard, hand strap, mini USB cable and headset, mains charger or vehicle charger, battery and soft case.
