Moxa IP Network Camera Purpose-Designed for Mobile Video Surveillance Applications

By Editor | October 19, 2012

The rugged, easy-to-install VPort P06-1MP-M12-T IP surveillance camera with HD resolution from Moxa Americas is purpose-engineered for mobile environments, such as delivery vehicles, trains, trams, subway cars, high-speed rail, taxicab, police cars, and metro, school or special use buses.

Exceptionally robust for an advanced IP network camera, the VPort P06-1MP-M12-T operates in temperatures ranging from minus 40° F to 167° F (minus 40° to 75° C), plus is certified EN50155 for long-term reliability of on-board electronic equipment subjected to constant EMC, shock, vibration, temperature variation and humidity.  In addition, it offers the security of vibration-resistant M12 connectors, IP66 rain/dust protection for outdoor exposure and includes a 5-year warranty.

Mounting devices on vehicles are sometimes a challenge for operators, and to answer this challenge, the VPort 06-1MP-M12-T sports a profile of less than two inches for the limited installation space typically found in public transport. Additionally, the camera supports PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) for simplified wiring, includes one audio input for audio recording and is ONVIF compliant for standardization and interoperability in VMS video management software used in these applications today.

Moxa

To deliver top video performance, the VPort P06-1MP-M12-T supports Moxa’s Dynastream™ technology with dynamic bandwidth management that optimizes mobile network performance.

Moxa’s CBR Pro™ technology is also built in to provide a constant bit rate for better video image transmission with limited bandwidth requirements.

Both H.264 and MJPEG video streaming, are supported by the camera to optimize bandwidth efficiency and image quality based upon compression level, frame rate and video resolution. The camera supports up to 30 frames per second at 720P HD (1280 x 800) resolution, which covers larger areas than legacy analog cameras with more detail. With the addition of DNR (Digital Noise Reduction), BLC (Black Level Control), and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) functions, the VPort P06-1MP-M12-T provides an extremely clear picture of the surveillance region.
