MW Industries, a provider of highly engineered springs, specialty fasteners, machined parts, and other precision components, has acquired LaVezzi Precision Inc. — manufacturer of precision-machined components used by the medical-device industry.
Located in Bloomingdale, Ill., LaVezzi was founded more than 100 years ago as a manufacturer of components for motion-picture projectors. The company reinvented itself in the mid-1980s as a precision-component supplier to the medical device market.
LaVezzi manufactures machined components for cardiovascular devices, orthopedic and dental implants, and metal components for laparoscopic and surgical devices. The company specializes in precision machining of titanium and stainless-steel components for applications needing extremely tight tolerances, earning a reputation for quality and excellence within the medical-device component industry.
“LaVezzi Precision has a proven history of providing innovative medical component solutions to address demanding requirements,” said MW Industries CEO John Bagnuolo.
LaVezzi will continue operations in its 90,000 square feet facility in Bloomingdale under MW Industries’ ownership.
“LaVezzi will join the MW Medical Solution family of brands, the most comprehensive offering of precision metal components to the global medical device market. We intend to grow the LaVezzi brand through the financial strength and capabilities of MW Industries,” added Bagnuolo.
MW Industries has completed a number of acquisitions to strengthen its product offerings and enhance its value to customers. The company is currently evaluating a strong pipeline of possible transactions.
