NAHAD’s charitable water cause surpasses $10,000 mark

By Paul Heney | November 4, 2016

Jim Reilly, NAHAD Past President, sent out a letter today on behalf of the association, encouraging those in the hose business to contribute to the group’s current social cause. Earlier this year, NAHAD had launched an initiative to bring its members together to support a cause connected to the hose industry: clean water. Working with the group “charity: water,” NAHAD committed to helping bring clean water to millions around the globe.

Reilly explained that the group has raised $8,672 of the $10,000 goal—but as of this afternoon, that number had risen to $10,242, achieving the goal.

Reilly’s letter is below.

reillyOne of my proudest achievements as NAHAD President was to work with our board to launch our Social Cause partnership with charity: water. For those who might not remember, charity: water is a nonprofit organization that provides communities in developing countries with their first access to clean water. I can go on and on about the great work they do but don’t take my word for it-watch firsthand here what charity: water does.

Being in the hose business, I personally saw this cause as something I wanted to get behind, and something I wanted our NAHAD membership to support. As a result, we launched our partnership with charity: water during NAHAD’s Annual Convention back in April. Since that time, we have raised $8,672. Our goal is $10,000 which will allow NAHAD to personally fund a water project in a community with the greatest need. That’s only $1,328 more dollars to go! So many NAHAD members have given personally and so many of our member companies have supported this initiative and to them I thank you. To the rest of our membership, I am emailing you today to ask you to consider making a donation to help us reach our goal.

To support NAHAD’s campaign with charity: water, simply CLICK HERE and you will be directed to NAHAD’s fundraising page. You can make any donation amount of your choice and all are 100 percent tax deductible.

Please help us reach our goal before the end of 2016. As an industry I hope we will all band together to give back.

Thank you for reading this and for your support.

Sincerely,
Jim Reilly
