The U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) Wednesday digest of military contracts included a $41.8 million Navy contract given to Mercury Defense Systems for 200 Miniaturized I/J Band Digital Radio Frequency Memory Modulators (Mini DRFMs).
The California-based small business will also provide repair and evaluation work associated with the Mini DRFMs. In its publication of the contracts, the DoD described the Mini DRFM as a “state-of-the-art electronic and radio frequency device that produces high fidelity threat simulator systems for test and evaluation and training missions.”
The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract was not competitively acquired. The labor will be conducted in Cypress, Calif., and should be finished in November 2020.
Pennsylvania -based Bechtel Plant Machinery will be awarded a $93.1 million modification to a Navy contract for the delivery of Naval Nuclear Propulsion components.
Nearly $82 million in fiscal 2016 funding will be assigned at the time the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract is awarded, with none of those funds set to expire at the end of the 2015 fiscal year. The labor will be conducted in Monroeville, Pa. The estimated date of completion for the work was not publicized, as such information is not provided for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program contracts.
