New Catalog from SDP

By Design World Staff | November 17, 2008

New Hyde Park, New York –The new catalog D160 from Stock Drive Products – SDP (an ISO 9001 manufacturer), features the patented Shaftloc‚® rotating component fastening device which secures shaft-mounted parts, such as pulleys, gears and couplings, to inch and metric shafting. The catalog D160 features over 160 Shaftloc‚® products.

Shaftloc‚® is the superior way to fasten rotating components, excelling because of its simplicity, it contains all structural features in only two parts. Different designs have been developed to fasten a rotating component to a shaft. The shallow angle of the thread produces large amplifications of forces, resulting in substantial torque transmission capability between the component and the shaft. Nonmarring to the shaft, the Shaftloc‚® system installs with standard tools and is reusable. New to the line are the A-Type two-piece hexagonal construction which consists of a bolt and nut which become a vibration resistant fastener when the nut is tightened to embrace the component mounted to it. The M-Type is used as a locking device for rigidly mounting mechanical components on a shaft.

Distinct advantages of Shaftloc‚® over conventional fastening devices are: (1) Simplicity of design – only two parts (2) No marring of shafts (3) Easy repositioning or synchronizing (4) Ease of assembly (5) Applicability to small shaft diameters (6) Availability in all stainless construction (7) Ability to be used for stationary breadboard structures. Shaftloc‚® is available from stock to fit 1/8″, 3/16″, 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 6 mm,10 mm & 12 mm shafts.
