Nidec Motion Control is pleased to announce a newly formed Distribution Partnership with Designatronics. Nidec Motion Control specializes in the development and manufacturing of power-dense, standard and custom servo motors, fractional and subfractional gearmotors, as well as a wide array of motor controllers. Designatronics, through its SDP/SI brand is a one-stop source for mechanical components, assemblies and customized mechanical solutions. Through this partnership, customers will have access to low voltage standard DC motors and controllers for industrial automation, robotics, medical technology, safety & security, agriculture, marine, food & beverage, biomass/pellet technology, vending and more.

Together, Nidec Motion Control and SDP/SI seek to optimize value to customers in shared markets throughout the world. This new partnership will leverage Nidec’s vast global manufacturing footprint, extensive product platforms and technological expertise in motors and motion control solutions along with SDP/SI’s agile inventory management system, comprehensive customized mechanical solutions, user-friendly e-commerce website and knowledgeable customer service and product support teams.

“With the Nidec Motion Control Distribution Partnership, we now provide a one-stop-shop for our OEM customers including pre-assemblies and kitting, from digital controllers to custom mechanical transmission solutions. SDP/SI can meet our customers’ demands for multidisciplinary mechatronics support and products that combine electrical, computer, and mechanical skill sets needed in today’s advanced automated manufacturing and robotics industries,” said Robert Kufner, President and CEO at Designatronics.

Greg Levine, President of Nidec Motion Control added, “We are pleased to have found a distribution partner with whom we can supply our products to new customer segments. We’re seeing a real need from OEMs in the mechatronics realm for innovative motors, controllers and other advanced components to facilitate the development of their applications. We are confident that our alignment with Designatronics/SDP/SI will fill gaps in the market as we work to create opportunities for all involved.”
