The new CFSW hinge from Elesa USA features a built-in multiple switch (Elesa patent) for safety-critical applications. When opened, the hinge automatically breaks off the power supply. The new hinge can be used on doors on machines, safety doors or production equipment openings.
The CFSW, coupled with its complementary mechanical hinge, the CFMW, represents a complete system combining safety and style.
Designed to meet the requirements of protection class IP67 and due to the use of stainless steel elements in the hinge body, it can withstand frequent severe water jet washings, and can be used in environments where frequent cleaning occurs, particularly for critical hygiene applications.
Compact size, different assembly and output options (cable/connector) make this product easy to install on the most common aluminum profiles (30 mm minimum wide).
The built-in safety multiple switch and the hinge come in a one-piece offering to enable very easy and fast assembly. This time-savings advantage is significant compared to some traditional systems which require the hinge and safety switch to be set up separately, then connected by a special pin to replace the standard pin of the hinge.
The CFSW hinge can be used in system design to meet up to SIL3 or PLe in compliance with EN ISO 13849-1 when using a redundant system.
The new CFSW hinge has undergone severe resistance tests, and its electrical and mechanical features have been approved by the Italian Institute for the Quality Mark (IMQ).
