By Sheila Campbell, Product Marketing Manager

Machine designers often search out cylinder solutions that provide consistent and reliable performance, yet are simple to mount, operate and maintain. PA Series actuators are ideal for everyday pneumatic linear motion applications where versatility and modularity are valued.

The PA Series is new to Bimba’s extensive NFPA product line and offers an extruded aluminum bodied alternative to its existing tie-rod line-up. It provides a versatile, cost effective solution for a variety of industries and applications such as packaging, food processing, material handling and industrial automation equipment. Its lightweight construction and modern design are only matched by flexible mounting configurations and a number of standard features like magnetic piston and auto-cushioning technology.

PA Series actuators are equipped with an Auto Cushioning System. This uniquely designed internal air cushion auto-adapts to changing loads and conditions. This means cushion needle adjustment is not required, simplifying installation and setup. The auto cushioning results in longer machine life and offers a fit and forget solution.

The Ecology Piston Seal is an optional feature in PA Series NFPA actuators. The Ecology Seal is a specially engineered piston seal designed to absorb energy and reduce vibration in high speed applications. When used in conjunction with the auto-cushion, the Ecology piston seal enhances conventional cushioning technology to improve end of stroke deceleration.

Bimba’s PA Series actuators are well positioned to meet the needs of OEMs, custom machine builders, and machine tool manufacturers. They offer flexible, modular solutions and provide machine builders with many different options and configurations.
