SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – NKK Switches continues to expand its portfolio of illuminated products with the announcement of the LB, YB, UB and UB2 families of power-rated illuminated devices. Ideal for industrial applications, these highly reliable switches are designed to address even the most demanding of design considerations.

These NKK series are comprised of several comprehensive families of pushbutton switches. Ranging from 3A @125V/250V AC or 3A @ 30V DC to [email protected]/250AC or 5A @ 30V DC, these switches are offered in various shapes including round, square and rectangular, with multiple cap styles, illumination types and colors. Bi-color versions can also be specified. Additional options include ordering with built-in resistors to reduce and simply assembly time. Low profile and compact body styles with solder lug/QC or PC terminals are standard.

Unique characteristics include compact body designs to minimize behind panel depth and molded in epoxy sealed terminals to prevent the entry of flux, dust and other contaminants. They are UL Recognized and CSA Certified with Flammability ratings of UL 94V-0. YB and LB series are also offered sealed to IP65 of IEC60529 standard (similar to NEMA 4 & 13).

All NKK power-rated illuminated pushbuttons are available in SPDT or DPDT and momentary or maintained circuits, which come standard with a latch-down feature that indicates status. Stainless steel clips provide secure mounting for snap-in models in the LB, YB, UB and UB2 series. Bushing mounts can be specified for LB and YB series and accessory options include protective guards and dust covers.

Each of these switches feature specially-constructed caps that accommodate cap legends. Engineers can utilize NKK’s online tool created specifically to aid in panel design. The Legend Maker is available at www.nkkswitches.com/legendmaker.  After completing a simple step-by-step process, engineers can create and purchase customized switches with legends.

A leading designer and producer of electromechanical switches, NKK offers one of the industry’s most extensive selections of illuminated, process sealed, miniature, specialty and surface mount switches. The company manufactures more than four million toggle, rocker, pushbutton, slide, rotary, DIP rotary, keypad and keylock switches. All switches are designed and manufactured to provide the quality and dependability that has made NKK the benchmark for reliability for over half a century.
