Ogura Industrial has created a new animation showing how PTO clutch brakes work. The animation shows an exploded view of the component parts and how they interact with each other. In PTO clutch brakes, torque is generated by attracting the armature and rotor to each other via a series of magnetic flux paths. The animation shows how this is created and how torque is transferred in a PTO clutch brake.
PTO clutch brakes are primarily used to engage and disengage a rotating blade on outdoor power equipment. The animation shows how the brake plates help to slow down the armature to achieve a desired stop time as well as how the plates can be flipped to increase total cycle life.
The video can be found on Ogura’s website and on our YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/oguraindustrial
