A newly redesigned Web site from SDP/SI makes it easier to buy over 100,000 mechanical components online. The site, at www.sdp-si.com, was in development for over a year by the SDP/SI in-house graphics department. A highlight of the new site is a redesigned product index which is linked directly to inch and metric products on the SDP/SI eStore. Visitors can now easily bookmark any product they saw on the site or submitted for quantity pricing or are planning to order.
The new site features the ability to request 8 comprehensive product catalogs plus a CD-ROM for free delivery, via mail, for individuals anywhere in North America. In addition, the product and technical portion of these catalogs can be downloaded, by product section, to the visitor’s computer. The usefulness of this “component library” is illustrated by the growing number of high schools and universities which are using these handbooks as part of their curriculum or as required references.
The Capabilities Section of the site features an updated machinery list, engineering tools plus a detailed RoHS compliance statement. Stock Drive Products is ISO 9001:2000 Registered. Sterling Instrument is 9001:2000 + AS9100B Registered. In addition to providing standardized components, they are able to modify these parts to conform to the customer’s custom specifications. Engineers and specifiers have been downloading at the site approximately 8,000 3D models per month in 19 different CAD formats at no charge.
