Newport Electronics has identified Newark element14 as its primary national distributor of technology products and engineering solutions. The move comes as Newport shifts to a purely distributor-based sales model as it strives to expand its industry-leading customer service and support.
The alliance with Newark element14 provides Newport customers with a one-stop solution. They’ll have access to Newport’s full range of U.S.-manufactured products at an attractive price point, plus expert services and technical support, providing everything they need to build powerful, stable, high-quality designs.
As part of this announcement, customers purchasing Newport products from Newark.com will receive promotional pricing of five percent off between October 1 and December 31, 2013.
“We’re thrilled to announce this alliance with Newport, which has a strong reputation as an instrumentation leader,” said Jim Seifert, SVP Product, Supplier, Asset and Pricing at Newark element14. “Our status as Newport’s primary national distributor will not only enhance our business and help us better serve customers, but will enable mutual growth between both our companies as well.”
Bill Keating, general manager at Newport Electronics added, “As our primary national distributor, Newark element14 will offer an incredible selection of Newport products in sensing, signal processing, data logging, control, display and signal distribution, to name a few. We’re confident our alignment will reinforce Newport’s ‘total solution’ capabilities and provide an even better customer experience.”
Newark element14’s national presence allows for extensive, multi-tiered customer support with full sales coverage throughout the U.S.
The company will be the source for all Newport’s new technologies including the iSeries Limit Alarm Controller and 1/8 DIN high resolution graphic display panel meter. These, and other Newport products, have applications in a wide variety of industries including food processing, environmental control, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, aerospace and medical, among others.
Newport will also benefit from Newark element14’s web-based product support platforms, social media marketing expertise and the award-winning element14 Community. The first of its kind, the community offers design engineers a space to share project concepts with 200,000 members. Additionally, the industry’s most comprehensive online knowledge resource for electronic design, the Knode on element14, is a first stop for any engineer undertaking a design project with a development kit.
