NKE receives accolades for work environment

By Mike Santora | July 28, 2021

Bild 1 NKE MitarbeiterinnenBearing manufacturer NKE Austria GmbH has received the “Great Place to Work” certificate. Businesses that take part in the certification process and meet the respective requirements are entitled to display the commendation “Certified by Great Place to Work” for a year. The process is based on a survey of all employees and is intended to reflect a good workplace culture.

The certification is designed to allow prospective job applicants to see employers from the employee’s point of view and to show them that they can expect a welcoming and pleasant work environment. “NKE not only defines itself as the best alternative on the bearing market but also strives to be the best alternative on the employer market,” says Matthias Ortner, Deputy Managing Director of NKE in Steyr. “We actively work to establish an innovative, modern corporate culture in which employees can develop and grow.” The results of the survey indicated that the aspects of their company most highly appreciated by its employees were its proven flexibility, a strong feeling of social solidarity, and the opportunities it offers for personal development. “This positive feedback affirms our efforts over the last few years to create the best possible environment for our staff, in which they are both challenged and encouraged,” says Ortner. “This certification also allows us to critically examine ourselves and gain valuable impetus to develop further as an employer. This award is to the credit of all employees and the reward for contributing to a good working atmosphere on a daily basis. At the same time, it is also a reminder of what we hold most important at NKE: our corporate culture and every single employee.”

The Great Place to Work organization has cooperated with leading businesses in all industries all over the world for 30 years to “identify, develop and publicize trust-based, powerful workplace cultures.” Through the medium of surveys and evaluations, its objective is to enable companies to assess and improve their cultures. Every year, the best employers and businesses, which have been certified by Great Place to Work in Austria and over 50 countries around the world, are recognized.

NKE is a manufacturer of premium bearings for industrial applications. About 80 employees work at the company headquarters in Steyr. Engineering, product development, production and final processing of components, assembly, quality assurance, logistics, and sales and marketing are centralized at its Steyr headquarters. In addition to product development and application engineering, NKE provides a full range of technical services, consulting, documentation and training.
