No Magic releases Cameo Inter-Op and Cameo Workbench

No Magic, Inc., the provider of integrated modeling software and services, announced the release of Cameo Inter-Op 1.0 – a new addition to No Magic’s Cameo Suite which facilitates connectivity between different vendors of modeling, architecture, and requirement tools.

The development of modern systems is a collaborative effort that incorporates different engineering disciplines, and various forms of external data.  Interoperability among design tools is more important than ever to complete projects on time, and on budget.  Cameo Inter-Op is designed to address these needs, by providing a series of connectors, transformations, mappings and rules that enable users to import and export models (metadata and diagram data) between MagicDraw and IBM Rational Rhapsody, or MagicDraw (UPDM/DoDAF/MODAF) and System Architect (DoDAF).

Cameo Inter-Op supports semantics and diagrams, to ensure that data integrity is maintained between MagicDraw and these products, and it provides an advanced level of customization that enables teams to define their own integration needs, and maximize the efficiency of their teams. Cameo Inter-Op 1.0 is the latest progression of earlier efforts initiated in No Magic’s MagicRQ, and Cameo DataHub, along with the opening up of the core XMI format of MagicDraw’s meta data and diagram information.  No Magic has made it a priority to maintain compatibility with efforts taking place in OMG’s Interoperability Working Group.

The upcoming release of Cameo Workbench (scheduled for September, 2010) will further enhance Cameo Inter-Op, by giving customers the ability to wire-up their own connectors, or customize No Magic’s supplied mappings, to interoperate with other product formats, thus controlling their own destiny.

Additionally, No Magic is supplying the ability for the customer to define mappings for the following products:
