Nord-Lock presents its newest U.S. production site for tensioning solutions

By Michelle Froese | May 10, 2022

You can now take a virtual tour of Nord-Lock Group‘s new production site for its Superbolt mechanical tensioners and Boltight hydraulic tensioners.

Take a virtual tour of Nord-Lock Group’s 110,000-square-foot Pittsburgh facility for global bolt-tensioning manufacturing.

Located in The Steel City next to Pittsburgh International Airport, the global provider in bolted solutions, is proud of its latest U.S. facility. Its American-made tensioning products are now manufactured in a 110,000-square-foot production area, using state-of-the-art machinery and equipment.

The new site also has a full training rig for customers.

Superbolt tensioners are easy to work with and provide a mechanical advantage as a resuly of their unique design, which divides the load among multiple small jackbolts. Once installed properly, multi-jackbolt tensioner connections are reliable and remain tight indefinitely.

Nord-Lock’s Boltight hydraulic bolt tensioning tools offer fast, accurate, and safe solutions to tighten and loosen multiple bolts simultaneously.

The company also offers plenty of options, producing the smallest to the largest sizes of bolts and advanced tensioning tools, including custom designs.

The key developments of the new Pittsburgh production facility include:

  • A 29% increase in total production area to 110,000ft2 (10,219m2)
  • A 200% increase in office space to 15,000ft2 (1,392m2)
  • Expansive, streamlined production facility with new machinery and equipment
  • Training center and hands-on laboratory
  • On-site gym and cafeteria

“This is a facility that we can all be proud of and one that reflects the high standards beneath everything we do, creating the finest tensioning products and positioning ourselves for continued global growth,” said Steve Greenwell, Nord-Lock director, Tensioning Division.
