ESAB, a global provider of fabrication technology, announced the availability of the Ruffian ES 150G welding generator at Northern Tool + Equipment Stores. The Ruffian ES 150G is ESAB’s first light-industrial, engine-driven welding generator.
The ESAB Ruffian ES 150G features 14-HP KOHLER Command Pro engine and delivers a 150-amp Stick welding output and 4,500 watts of peak 120V/240V AC power.
The 2-in-1 150-amp stick welder and 4.5-kW generator are built for construction, service trucks, farm or ranch work, light fabrication, maintenance, and other outdoor applications where on-site portability is required.
The Ruffian ES 150G combines the award-winning welding technology from ESAB’s Rogue Stick inverter with the proven reliability of a 14-HP KOHLER Command PRO engine. It offers simultaneous generator power and welding without arc fluctuation.

The Ruffian delivers 150A of welding power at 60% duty cycle and runs electrodes up to 5/32-in. diameter. It provides easy arc starts, and an adjustable Arc Force control that enables a smooth and stable welding arc with all types of DC Stick electrodes. This includes electrodes such as the low-hydrogen 7018 electrodes used for high-strength welds, cellulosic electrodes (6010/6011) common for repairs on dirty or rusty metals or general-purpose welding, and hardfacing electrodes.
The Ruffian also has four 120-volt receptacles and one 240-volt receptacle. With a five-gallon gas tank, the machine offers 6.5 hours of run time at maximum output.
