NRB/NRN Series Inductive Proximity Sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs

Pepperl+Fuchs NRB/NRN Series Inductive Proximity Sensors with reduction factor 1 are capable of detecting every kind of metal at the same operating distance, and over significantly greater operating distances than is possible with standard inductive sensors. As a result users benefit from greater flexibility, increased productivity and reduced operating costs to optimize machine designs in virtually any application.

Cylindrical sensor models are available in diameters as small as 6.5 mm up to 30 mm with operating distances of 1.5mm up to 25 mm. Cube-style sensors are available with dimensions of 40 mm x 40 mm or 80 mm x 80 mm with operating distances ranging from 15 mm to 50 mm.

For particularly harsh application environments these sensors are available with a PTFE coated brass housings (cylindrical models) or a metal housing with a weld-resistant surfaces (cube-style models), enabling them to withstand the impact of metal shavings and showers of hot weld splashes common to automotive manufacturing environments.

Sensors like the NRB12-18GS40-E2-V1 are equipped with a special air-core coil system that is precisely adjusted to ensure that target detection is independent of the metal characteristics and provide the greatest possible operating distances. The air-coil system makes these sensors insensitive to interference from frequency converters or strong magnetic fields created in welding operations.
