NS212 Couplings from Colder Products Company

By Design World Staff | December 13, 2011

Colder Products Company has introduced the NS212 quick disconnect couplings to meet the need for smaller, cost-effective non-spill fluid connectors in a wide range of applications. NS212 couplings give users increased versatility and broader chemical compatibility for printing and ink management, electronic cooling, analytical instrumentation, and other applications.

“Our customers use a wide range of chemicals in applications where even one spilled drop of fluid poses a risk to equipment or operators,” said Dennis Downs, business unit manager, industrial markets. “The NS212 couplings address these potential hazards in a compact and easy-to-use solution with a unique non-spill design that delivers cost-efficient, high-flow fluid transfer in a small footprint. It builds on our industry-leading platform of non-spill quick disconnect couplings.”

NS212 Coupling

The NS212 couplings offer an easy, twist-to-connect locking mechanism and double-sided non-spill shutoff valves in a space-saving design suitable for use in a wide range of applications. The new couplings also feature very low air inclusion – air induced into the coupling upon connection – minimizing contaminants and reducing the need to purge fluid lines.

Colder NS212 Series quick disconnect couplings offer hose barb and pipe thread terminations and are available for tubing in 1/8” (3.2mm) and 1/4” (6.4mm) ID. Configurations include pipe thread, in-line and panel mount. The ferruless compression terminations connect to 1/4″ OD (6.4mm) and 0.17″ ID (4.3mm) semi-rigid tubing. Pressure ranges from vacuum to 45 psi (3.1 bar), and operating temperatures range from 32° F (0° C) to 120° F (49° C).
