PITTSBURGH, PA — Eaton Corporation announced the availability of new door-mounted operating handles for Series G circuit breakers that improve reliability in dusty, corrosive or wet environments. The clean, functional design makes the handles easy to install and operate.
Offered in three shaft lengths, two color schemes and type 1/12/3R or Type 4/4X ratings, the handle mechanism is designed to fit a variety of applications and enclosure configurations. Typically, it is used in control panels for industrial machinery including compressors; mixers and grinders; metalworking machines; extruders, injection molding, and other plastics machinery; woodworking and laminating machinery; and conveyors and material handling equipment.
The handle mechanism features a robust design. The metal-on-metal defeater between the handle and shaft is designed to prevent contaminant build-up that could impede operation, while ultraviolet (UV) and chemical agent resistant materials protect the handle from heat and fading in direct sunlight and from contaminants in harsh environments.
Further, the handle mechanism is designed to make installation and operation easier. It has stand-off support that allows for easy operation with a gloved hand. To ease installation and positioning of the shaft, the handles are designed with guided shaft alignment. Further, the mechanisms allow padlocks or multi-hasp locks for added flexibility; the door is interlocked when padlocked and cannot be bypassed, enhancing personnel safety.
