PEMSpec™ , an innovative, breakthrough product application designed to enhance catalog/data sheet experiences via mobile device technology has been launched by PennEngineering, a leader in specialty fasteners.

Leon Attarian, Director of Global Marketing for PennEngineering, states, “we wanted a tool that our design engineer customers could utilize to quickly search our entire product database and then easily view the pertinent application data. This technology really hits the mark for us and our users. Not only do we enable our customers and prospects to receive real-time updates on all of our products though an untethered smart mobile device, the benefits of not having to print as many catalogs and data sheets. We look forward to expanding our app with more features and functions as they get develop through our tech provider .”

Working closely with the customer (PennEngineering), the PEMSpec app was developed by The McCabe Group, a leading B-2-B/Industrial marketing and strategic planning agency. The base technology, TekSpec, is the result of years of design and BETA testing by a team of experts to develop an intuitive tool that allows companies to take information from their catalogs, data sheets, and other pertinent data and transform this information into an easily accessible, and interactive experience on most mobile platforms.

“The ability to bring to life static documents such as catalogs and data sheets, and enable the viewer to actively participate in gathering information, learning, assessing, as well as viewing photographs, pdf files, CAD drawings, animations and other pertinent information to help in the buying decision, was paramount to our approach,” said Paul McCabe, President/CEO of the McCabe Group. “The menu-driven add-on capabilities such as multiple mobile platform access, e-commerce, parametric search and search by product name, code or sku make this a user friendly, cost effective solution to companies looking to cut back on printing catalogs and placing real time data on a socially forward technology,” McCabe continued.

Recent statistics demonstrate that by the end of 2014, over 80% of the information gathering/decision-making process for products and services will be initiated via mobile platforms. The TekSpec technology is leading the way in the B-2-B/Industrial marketplace where all this static data can now be made to interact with the user beyond a simple catalog on line.
