By Expanding their Sensor Offering PFA is Providing an Excellent Opportunity to extend Locking Cylinder viability to higher temperatures and more demanding applications.
Locking Cylinder Manufacturer, PFA Incorporated, has expanded their KOR-LOK® Side-Action System offering to include Low Profile proximity (solid state) and High Temperature (SPDT) sensors. Now, engineers can preload cores on molds operating near 400 F (205 C) with confirmation of Core Locking and Pull Position, greatly extending the range of core preloading applications.
PFA, a Wisconsin based manufacturer of industrial automation, injection molding and associated products, is best known for the KOR-LOK product line. KOR-LOK Side-Action Systems (also referred to as Core Pull Systems or Locking Cylinders) are highly configurable components used for complex injection molding applications.
PFA has recently added online 3D CAD configuration and installation videos to coincide with the release of the new sensors, thanks to customer feedback, says Mark Scanlan, Vice President of PFA Inc.
“We discuss and review applications with our customers all the time, and feedback has been strong for higher temperature systems”, says Scanlan. “While most customers desire our Single Pole Double Throw Dry Contact Style Switches, they also occasionally want to integrate with other more typical proximity switches. With these new options and our SWITCHMAX® Connectivity system, we can integrate with any injection press made, including legacy systems.”
