PHD Series GRM1 Miniature Clamp delivers 225 lb of clamp force

minigrmPHD (www.phdinc.com) offers a light-weight, compact clamp that boasts a total clamp force of up to 225 lb — the Series GRM1 Miniature Clamp.

Weighing less than 1 pound, this cost-competitive clamp features a proven cam-design technology that locks the jaws in the closed position to ensure part retention in case air pressure is lost due to power loss or line rupture. The clamp’s simple design includes four jaw openings and polymer seals for longer service life. It also features hard coated aluminum components to protect it against wear, while adjustable hardened-steel impact plates protect its body from damage due to part impact.

In addition, interchangeable hardened-steel jaw maximizes wear resistance and minimizes costly inventory. Accepting all GRM2 standard tips, the GRM1 Miniature Clamp offers high clamp force to weight ratio and is ideally suited for applications in workholding, robotics and end-effectors, material handling and automotive industries.

Maintenance in the field is never a problem since the clamp can be easily repaired in just 10 minutes using metric hex wrenches. With self-locking internal threads throughout, the Series GRM1 Clamp eliminates the need for additional locking components or thread locking adhesives.

Meanwhile, its switch mounting option offers a maximum of four sensing functions on a single clamp. These include double sheet detection, panel present detection and open/close detection. Available in PNP and NPN outputs, all sensors come with Ø 4.0 mm round solid‑state switches and 8.0 mm quick disconnects.
