On Sept. 18, two Galileo satellites arrived in French Guiana in preparation for a launch at the end of 2017.
Galileo 19 and 20 were carried by a Boeing 747 cargo jet in air-conditioned containers.
They will be integrated with an Ariane 5 rocket and will eventually join Europe’s satellite navigation constellation in orbit. There are currently 18 satellites in place in the Galileo array. More information can be found at the European Space Agency.
