Based on COAX technology, the piCLASSIC is Piab’s (www.piab.com) upgraded vacuum pump series that has been specifically designed to deliver greater efficiencies than previous similar-sized pumps. Despite its low weight and small size, the vacuum pump is ideal for various applications with large capabilities.
Offering an initial high amount of flow, the piCLASSIC eliminates the need for costly vacuum valves and vacuum tanks usually required by machines operating at high speeds using rotary vane pumps. To save a great amount of energy, the piCLASSIC uses compressed air as its source of energy. It can also be easily turned on/off, making it suitable for operations that require vacuum intermittently.
“Capitalizing on the COAX® technology advantages over traditional multi-stage ejectors, the piCLASSIC is available with 70% more vacuum flow capacity than older designs,” said Jan Schieche, Global Product Manager Pumps & Accessories at Piab.
The all-new modular and low weight design of the piCLASSIC allows users to conveniently upgrade the performance of the pumps by adding up to six cartridges. Other features of the piCLASSIC that are considered to be a huge advantage over the conventional rotary vane vacuum pumps include its ability to be installed near the point of vacuum, which further reduces the costs of energy. The number of moving parts is also very limited, so there is virtually no cost for downtime, service and repair.
For optimized capacity and performance, the piCLASSIC is available in three special options — the Xi, Si and Pi. It is also offered with an energy-saving function for sealed systems.
