SMC’s (www.smcusa.com) D-M9*W series pneumatic sensor helps end users reduce costs in two ways with its ability to be directly mounted to the actuator and two color indicator.
Its direct mounting design provides flexibility while effectively eliminating heavy installation work. To set the D-M9*W series, position first the sensor and tighten its built-in set screw using a screw driver.
Meanwhile, the dual color indicator eliminates the guess work during the setting of the sensor. This feature allows the end user to easily check if the optimum sensing position has been reached. The sensor’s indicator flashes a green light when it is in its optimum operating position zone during the initial set up. On the other hand, a red light is shown when the sensor is on the edge of the optimum operating position zone.
A solid state sensor, the D-M9*W series sensor is offered in three different styles — two wire, three wire PNP output and three wire NPN output. For flexibility in mounting, it is also available in vertical and in-line wire entry.
Delivering a power voltage of 4.5 to 28 VDC, the D-M9*W sensor provides three wire lengths of free wire leads and a current consumption of 10mA or below. It also offers a watertight construction with an IP67-rated enclosure rating.
To save installation time, the company also offers three styles of pre-wired connections — M8 three-pin, M8 four-pin and M12 four-pin.
