QM Power has the unique distinction of developing several different new electric motion technologies; the Parallel Path Magnetic Technology (PPMT), the Q-Sync electronic drive and the QM Power Switched Reluctance (QSR), among others.
Early funding was provided by the National Science Foundation, NASA, the U.S. Army and Navy and the Department of Energy. More recently, a $3.7 million ARPA-E project to develop high power density and high efficiency electric vehicle motor solutions using their PPMT technology without the use of rare earth magnets has provided QM Power with sufficient capital to expand operations and commercialize its technology platform.
QM Power is currently ramping production for its fractional horsepower fan applications for the HVAC and refrigeration markets and preparing for more widespread commercialization of its PPMT technology in applications from electric and hybrid electric vehicles, wind and hydro power generation, linear actuators/pumps/clamps, robotics, industrial motors, power tools, military and aerospace applications and a variety of other stand-alone applications.
