Qualcomm UK Spectrum has agreed to sell the entirety of its U.K. L-Band Spectrum to Vodafone UK and Hutchinson 3G UK Limited in two separate transactions, Qualcomm Incorporated announced Wednesday.
In the transactions, Vodafone and Hutchinson will each purchase 20 MHz of the 1452-1492 MHz band.
Further details of the terms of the sales were not disclosed.
According to Qualcomm’s release, L-Band spectrum can be used for Supplemental Downlink to help meet demand for increased mobile data traffic.
Both sales remain subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
Each of the three companies will submit their respective applications for the spectrum transfers to U.K. communications regulator Ofcom for approval shortly.
