Red Valve unveils cost-effective Series 4700 Air Operated Pinch Valves

Red Valve (www.redvalve.com) has introduced a cost effective, maintenance-free automatic valves that are specifically designed for low pressure service, in on/off or control applications.

Ideal for pneumatic conveying systems, O.E.M accounts, gravity flow applications and waste treatment plants, the Series 4700 Spun Aluminum Pinch Valve’s body is entirely made of spun aluminum for easy installation and weight savings.

The only wetted part and the key to the unique design of this air actuated Series 4700 is its flexible reinforced rubber sleeve. The pinching action or actuation of the valve is achieved by placing hydraulic or air pressure on its sleeve. With its body acting as an integrated actuator, the valve effectively eliminates the need for costly hydraulic, pneumatic or electric actuators.

Applying more air pressure on the annular space between the sleeve and the housing can cause the valve to throttle, open or close. Generally, around 25 psi over line pressure is needed for full closure.

In addition, the flexibility of the sleeve eliminates “hang-ups” while enabling the valve to close “drop tight” on entrapped solids without damaging itself. With the valve’s sealing area is equivalent to its length, the Series 4700 has no packing or seats to replace, dead spots or cavities to collect debris as well as bind valve operation. When it is open, the valve appears like a straight pipe in the line. Since the valves do not have external levers, links, rotating parts or pistons to cause downtime, they can be buried underground and used in harsh environments and remote locations.
