Refrigeration Pressure Sensors

By Design World Staff | December 15, 2008

Moorpark, CA, – Kavlico has a full line of pressure sensors specifically designed to address the needs of the refrigeration market. Name the application, and Kavlico can deliver the right pressure sensor to fit the broad spectrum of volume vs. cost target requirements. Whether the application calls for measuring chiller pressure, supermarket refrigeration, refrigerant suction and discharge, or hydronic system pressure and steam recovery, Kavlico sensors have been designed to perform.

Popular Kavlico sensor models for refrigeration applications include:

‚• P158 Refrigeration Pressure Sensor

‚• P528 High Volume Refrigeration Pressure Sensor

‚• P4000 Sealed High Pressure Sensor

‚• PT250/PT251 Sealed Industrial Pressure Transmitter

‚• P250/P251 Sealed Industrial Pressure Sensor

‚• P250R/P251R Sealed Industrial Pressure Sensors with Internal Regulator

The high accuracy (‚±2% Total Error Band over -15 to +85‚°C) refrigeration sensors feature either a rugged brass or stainless steel housing and can be specified with a wide variety of electrical and pressure port connection to fit each unique application.

The sensors have high overpressure capability, and can operate in high shock, vibration and humidity environments. EMI/RFI protected, the sensors also feature over-voltage, reverse polarity, and short circuit protection. Temperature compensated over a wide operating range, the sensors have a ten million cycle life expectancy. Output options include linear amplified 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc, 0-5 and 0-10 Vdc regulated, or a current output of 4-20mA.

Pressure range availability is from 0-100 through 0-6,000 PSI. Kavlico refrigeration pressure sensors are compatible with R134a, R22, R123, R12, and other proprietary blends of HFC refrigerants as well as their associated lubricants.
