SKF has introduced capabilities to repair and/or rebuild ball screws for machine tools with a dedicated service channel and full technical and engineering support. This support channel can handle virtually all makes and models (inch and metric) and return the reconditioned ball screws quickly to service. These capabilities are part of a growing SKF portfolio of linear motion technologies and expertise providing solutions to minimize unscheduled downtime and achieve enhanced levels of system productivity and efficiency.

SKF services for the repair and rebuilding of ball screw assemblies include free inspection and analysis, comprehensive failure analysis and reporting, reverse engineering, replacement parts, plating, end journal repair, and shaft machining, among others. Emergency service is available with expedited turnaround and on-site field service can be arranged when requested. All repaired ball screws undergo a detailed inspection to deliver the highest quality and reliability.

SKF ball screw services draw from an extensive in-house library of more than 35,000 prints cataloging the universe of precision rolled ball screw and ground ball screw technologies. Readily available inventories of ball screw components contribute to timely response and effective turnaround. Teams of highly trained, experienced, and skilled engineers and technicians ultimately combine to deliver optimized support for successful outcomes.

Ball screws additionally can be customized, specially machined, uniquely designed, and/or upgraded to meet higher system demands and customer requirements.
