RocketPort® EXPRESS Multiport Serial Cards

(Minneapolis, MN)-Comtrol Corporation introduces RocketPort® EXPRESS in-server serial port expansion cards. RocketPort EXPRESS cards utilize Comtrol’s exclusive optimized Unity ASIC chip for increased performance while providing reliable connectivity for serial devices such as printers, scanners, cameras and LCD screens. Also, these flexible serial cards are fully compatible with systems featuring x1, x2, x4, x8, x12 and x16 lane PCI Express expansion slots.

The RocketPort EXPRESS product line, Comtrol’s latest family of multiport serial adapters, offers serial communication speeds of 921 Kbps for quad-cabled and octa-cabled products, while interface connected products communicate at up to 460 Kbps. RocketPort EXPRESS cards are low profile, making them suitable for use in both standard PCs and low-profile servers. The RocketPort EXPRESS family accommodates up to 128 ports per system, and all products support software-selectable RS-232/422/485 serial communication modes to provide countless connectivity options.


Applications:RocketPort EXPRESS multiport serial cards provide reliable communications and versatile connectivity for a wide range of applications, including: 
  – Factory systems 
  – SCADA systems 
  – Point-of-sale 
  – Medical systems 
  – Traffic equipment


In addition, several features of RocketPort EXPRESS cards make them particularly flexible, fast and easy to use: 
   – Provides PCIe x1, x2, x4, x8, x12 and x16 lane connectivity 
   – Utilizes Comtrol’s exclusive Unity ASIC chip for increased performance 
   – Features low-profile and standard-height compatibility 
   – Connects to serial devices such as printers, scanners, cameras and LCD screens 
   – Supports software-selectable RS-232/422/485 serial communication modes 
   – Communicates at speeds up to 921 Kbps 
   – Delivers models from 4- to 32-ports 
   – Accommodates up to 128 ports per system 
   – Offers quad-cabled, octa-cabled and interface connectivity options 
   – Complies with European Directive RoHS
