Ross Controls L-O-X Valves with unique design

Ross Controls (www.rosscontrols.com) has unveiled its L-O-X® valves, which are energy isolation valves that can be easily identified because of their unique shape.

The valves feature corrosion-resistant 316 stainless steel construction and a self-draining, washdown suitable design. With its reliable Fluorocarbon seals, the valves can withstand contaminant ingression and are lockable only in the OFF position.

The company has also equipped the valves with large exhaust ports for rapid release of pressure. Pressure sensing ports are offered as standard while visual indicator or pressure switch are available as an option. In addition, direct manual operation is achieved simply by pushing/pulling the valves’ large handle.

Meanwhile, the pressure sensing port enables installation of either the pressure switch or the visual indicator to verify pressure downstream to the next obstruction.

With an ambient/media temperature of 40° to 175°F (4° to 80°C), the energy isolation valves offer an inlet pressure of up to 300 psig. They also feature standard NPT threads or BSPP threads.

To open the valve, simply pull out the handle. This will allow the supply air to freely flow from the inlet into the outlet, while flow to the exhaust is blocked. The handle can be readily shut-off when needed.

The valve can be closed by pushing the handle inward, blocking the flow of the supply air while downstream air is exhausted through the exhaust port. Padlocking the valve in this position prevents the handle from being inadvertently pulled out, effectively avoiding possible injury during servicing or maintenance of the machinery.

The valves are ideal for applications in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, oil and gas, chemical processing and off-shore industries.
