With increasing dynamics and reduced cycle times of positioning systems, a low mass moment of inertia of the coupling, specifically on the fast-running side of the drive unit, is becoming more and more important. The clamping ring hubs light correspond to such requirements by saving more than 1/3 of the weight and mass moment of inertia compared to the version from aluminium and steel.
Product Features:
‚·Torsionally flexible, backlash-free shaft coupling with integrated clamping system
‚·Low weight and low mass moment of inertia since the design is fully made from aluminium
‚·Easy assembly due to internal clamping screws and block assembly
‚·High friction torques
‚·Smooth running, to be used up to 40 m/s circumferential speed
With the block assembly the indicated tightening torque is achieved with a few intermediate steps only, the assembly time being reduced. In contrast to the version from aluminium and steel, the coating of the hub is done without. To make sure that the clamping ring slides on the taper safely and evenly, it is lubricated with compression-proof fat.
The clamping ring hub in the combination of aluminium and steel will remain part of the KTR standard programm now as before, since apart from a 30 % higher friction torque it assures a safe torque transmission even with slightly bigger fluctuations in tolerances of the shaft.
