Anaheim, CA (Electronics West Show) – February 5, 2007 – SchmartBoard will announce the release of three new boards for large Quad Flat Pack (QFP) devices on February 14 at the upcoming Electronics West Show in Anaheim, CA.
SchmartBoard|ez prototyping boards make hand soldering surface mount components with small pitches, such as .8 mm or smaller, or with up to 100 pins, easy, quick, and flawless.
“People, who a couple of years ago would not be able to hand solder some small components with 8 pins, are now asking for us to support up to 256 pins,” said Neal Greenberg, Vice President of Marketing at SchmartBoard. “There are many components that are this large for microprocessors, FPGAs, and other advanced ICs.”
SchmartBoard has launched three new boards that can support larger and more complicated components, such as large QFP package components. Demonstrations of the capabilities of the boards will be held in the media area on Wednesday, February 14 at 10:30 a.m. The new boards have been specially created for QFP components and come in the following specs:
- .8mm pitch with 120 – 144 pins;
- .65mm pitch with 112 — 16 pins;
- .5mm pitch with 128 – 240 pins.
