Schneider Electric, AIT Merge Process Automation with Analyzers

Schneider Electric is teaming its process automation portfolio with process analyzers in a strategic alliance with Applied Instrument Technologies (AIT) to help tackle online and real-time process analysis in hydrocarbon, chemical, pharmaceutical and steel-making operations. The two companies will be able to offer their respective customers a more integrated approach to improve efficiencies in process analysis and control.

“We are always looking out for new ways to address critical challenges around efficiency, quality and safety that our customers face in their businesses,” said Chris Lyden, senior vice president, Process Automation Strategy and Offer Management, Industry Business, Schneider Electric. “This alliance enables us to team up with a great partner to offer our customers better solutions and to improve their businesses.”

Advanced applications the partnership will address will include blend management, optimization and planning, Lyden mentioned. “This will help to improve efficiencies and add significant value for our customers’ overall business.”

Customers will have more comprehensive process analysis, control and advanced operations management from a single supplier—combining Schneider Electric’s Foxboro Evo process automation system and Triconex safety instrumented systems, for example, with AIT’s spectroscopy and chromatography products, including real-time process analyzers.

“This provides customers with the most advanced integrated process control and analytical solution with a single point of purchase,” said Joseph LaConte, AIT’s president. “This alliance assures our customers are driving more value from their asset base, especially in the area of fuels blending analysis.”
