C&K has added two new compact tact switches to its comprehensive PTS Series product offering. Ideal for portable electronics in a wide range of markets, the new side-actuated PTS845 Series and PTS850 Series give designers more options to tailor end-products. The rugged, low-profile SMT switches are commonly used in portable devices including headsets, sports watches, health monitoring devices, Bluetooth accessories, black boxes, navigation, and more.
The small PTS845 Series is only 4.5 mm x 3.4 mm x 3.3 mm and is available in three standard actuation forces to meet customer demands and simplify integration. The PTS845 comes in an 80gf version, a 160gf version, and a 260gf version.
Similarly, the low profile PTS850 Series is only 5.4 mm x 5.0 mm x 1.8 mm and is available in two standard actuation forces. The PTS850 comes in a 180 gf version and a 350 gf version.
The SMT tactile switches provide full integration into reflow soldering standard processes, reducing time and costs for OEMs. The bracket and peg design for the PTS845 can be used without the additional cost and integration associated with the peg for high solder strength. The boss design for the PTS850 helps customers easily locate the switch to the PCB before soldering.
The PTS845 and PTS850 Series provide optimum performance, with high reliability up to 100K cycles for the PTS845 and 50K cycles for the PTS850.
