EnGen Technologies of Beaverton, Oregon has introduced the only self-illuminated LED street light that attaches directly to the utility line and reduces power consumption to near zero levels. When installed on any live conductor carrying 100 to 2,000 Amps, EnGen’s patent pending technology draws power from the surrounding electrical field and illuminates to light levels comparable to typical street lights. Each light can be installed in five minutes with a standard “hot stick”, eliminates the need for step down transformers, and significantly
reduces installation costs. EnGen’s new light allows permanent or temporary lighting to be installed quickly anywhere on the line. Cities can now quickly add light and safety to areas that currently do not have street lights.
