The 13-oz breezeSONIC, an alarm anemometer, is powered by an internal generator, so it needs no batteries. When the wind exceeds 20 mph, a 3.6 kHz, 90 dB audible alarm warns of unsafe conditions. There is not even an on/off switch. A high-reliability construction features a fully-hardened beryllium-copper shaft running in self-lubricating modified Teflon bearings. The unit is intended for use on aerial-lift work platforms and other wind-sensitive structures.
