Sensoray Model 2224 is a USB H.264 video/audio encoder with full screen text/graphics overlay and one SDI input that supports a variety of video resolutions, including 1080p/1080i, 720p and 480i/576i. The board’s versatile overlay generators, integral HD/SD frame grabber, and live preview stream make it ideally suited for a wide range of broadcast quality, high profile video processing applications, such as DVR, NVR and Streaming Server applications.
It has significant graphics enhancements which allow capture of an HDTV signal from an HD or SD-SDI source and formats it for display and image compression. Its high-speed hardware can generate on the fly, scale and display text/graphics from standard BMP files, which allows graphics to be easily and quickly placed and moved anywhere on the screen. The board can send an uncompressed, down-scaled video stream over USB to enable low-latency video previewing on the host computer with minimal CPU overhead. The uncompressed preview stream can flow over USB concurrently with the H.264 transport stream and a captured snapshot.
The Model 2224 provides three different audio input options―stereo/mono line-in audio input, XLR3 microphone input, and SDI embedded-in audio. The board employs special hardware and advanced techniques to keep audio synchronized to video, thereby eliminating the lip sync errors.
Sensoray provides a Software Developers Kit (SDK) for the Model 2224 that includes drivers, programming examples and comprehensive documentation for both Windows and Linux operating systems. The software demonstrates the full capabilities of the Model 2224, including digital video recording, real-time image display, single image storage and display, real-time H.264 encoding, and stored file playback.
