SICK introduces new IDpro platform for auto ID technologies

SICK (www.sick.com) has announced the release of its latest IDpro platform – a cross technology platform for auto ID technologies. Developed and manufactured under one umbrella, these technologies are created for continuous operator interfaces, connection options and process interfaces.

With the company’s IDpro, the world of auto ID technologies is seamlessly connected with control technology and information.

Derived on the standard ID platform, the RFH6xx/RFU6xx, LECTOR620 and CLV6xx product families provide all the necessary features for convenient network integration. In addition, their openness to fieldbusses commonly utilized in the industry ensures suitability for networking.

Meanwhile, the three auto ID technologies can be directly connected to EtherNet/IP and Ethernet (TCP/IP) without the need for an added gateway. The CDF600 fieldbus module also enables the IDpro sensors to be easily integrated into a vast array of additional gateway. Aside from connectivity to PROFIBUS DP, the fieldbus module also offers connectivity to EtherCAT with gateway functionality for the RFH6xx/RFU6xx RFID interrogators, the CLV6xx bar code scanner and the image-based LECTOR620 code reader.

SICK has also offered function blocks for PROFINET IO and PROFIBUS DP to allow for faster and easier integration of the IDpro identification systems to the control units, resulting to significant savings in time. Moreover, the special data transmission mode creates secure data communication between the control system and the sensor.
